A diver exploring the sandy bottom off Venice Beach — known as the “Shark Tooth Capital of the World” — uncovered a six-inch fossilized megalodon tooth, remarkably intact. Scientists estimate the tooth dates back roughly 3 to 5 million years, from when Carcharocles megalodon ruled the ancient seas. The discovery highlights how Florida’s submerged limestone shelf still hides pieces of our planet’s prehistoric story waiting to be found.
Arthur’s take: “Some collect coins, others collect moments — but the ocean collects eons. That tooth isn’t just a fossil; it’s a handshake across 5 million years. Keep your eyes on the surf line, friends — she still gives gifts.”
