🌱 Sourcing & Ethics — Our Approach to Responsible Collecting ▼
Q: Are your fossils ethically sourced?
A: Yes—our fossils are personally collected by us through low-impact, surface collecting where allowed. We do not buy from commercial suppliers. We follow posted rules and local laws, avoid restricted sites, and keep our impact minimal. Learn more on our Materials & Ethics page.
Q: Do you use protected or endangered species?
A: No. We use only common, legally collectible fossils (e.g., beach-found shark teeth) from permitted areas. We avoid protected species, culturally sensitive items, and any restricted locations or materials.
Q: Where do your fossils come from?
A: Primarily from our own field collecting along Florida’s Gulf Coast and other U.S. beaches and waterways where collecting is allowed. We do not source worldwide and we do not work with outside suppliers.
Q: How do you verify authenticity?
A: We research and identify each specimen to the best of our ability using reputable field guides and museum resources. IDs are shared in good faith and may include reasonable uncertainty; we do not provide formal certificates, lab testing, or guarantees.
🛍️ Products & Collections — Understanding Our Fossil Art ▼
Q: What types of fossil art do you offer?
A: Coastal-inspired jewelry, coasters, trays, décor, and gift sets—each featuring real fossils in quality resin. See Shop Collections.
Q: Are the fossils real?
A: Yes—authentic fossils, often millions of years old. We don’t use replicas. We share age/origin when known and label any uncertainties.
Q: How do I choose the right piece?
A: Consider your style, budget, and intended use. Browse by category/price, or ask us for a recommendation.
Q: What materials besides fossils?
A: Crystal-clear, durable epoxy resin for trays/coasters. Jewelry is handcrafted with copper wire (expect natural patina over time; see care tips below).
Q: Are your pieces food-safe?
A: Trays/coasters use food-safe resin suitable for serving (dry foods, beverages). Not for cutting or direct prep.
🎨 Custom Orders — Creating Your Unique Piece ▼
Q: Can you create custom pieces?
A: Absolutely—jewelry or décor designed with your story. Start the custom design process.
Q: How long do custom orders take?
A: Typically 2–4 weeks, depending on complexity. We’ll confirm your timeline during consultation.
Q: Can I choose specific fossils?
A: Yes—share your preferences (species, size, color). We’ll select options that fit and align with our responsible-collecting approach.
Q: Personalization?
A: No engraving. Personal touches come from your chosen layout, color palette, and the fossils/shells we include. We’re happy to add a handwritten gift message card with your order.
📦 Shipping & Care — Getting Your Fossil Art Safely ▼
Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: Currently U.S. only, with plans to expand.
Q: Packaging?
A: Protective wrapping and sturdy boxes. No presentation packaging by default; optional gift wrap is available at checkout for a small fee.
Q: Gift wrapping?
A: Available as a paid add-on (select at checkout or contact us to add).
Q: Item arrived damaged?
A: Shipping-carrier damage is handled via the carrier’s claims process. Insurance is available by request; we’ll help you start a claim with the carrier. Please save all packaging and take photos.
Q: Care instructions?
A: Wipe resin pieces with a soft, damp cloth; avoid harsh chemicals and extreme heat. For copper jewelry, store dry and avoid prolonged water exposure; a gentle polish cloth can refresh shine. Care Guide cards available on request.
