- Helpful shaping tools if you have them: plastic knife or craft stick

- Wash hands after the lab.
- Use only safe, non-living objects.
Required Action Steps
- Flatten a clay pad about the size of your palm.
- Choose five textured objects for casting.
- Press each object into the clay firmly and evenly.
- Remove the object slowly to reveal the impression.
- Label each impression in your notebook by name (not on the clay).
- Pick your best two impressions based on detail and clarity.
- Compare the best two with the weakest one and identify the difference.
